0 And Achaz slept with his fathers, and was buried with them in the city of David, and Ezechias his son reigned in his stead.


5 And I said: Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord answered: I am Jesus whom thou persecutest.


8 And Zachary said to the angel: Whereby shall I know this? for I am an old man, and my wife is advanced in years.


0 Their throat is an open sepulchre: they dealt deceitfully with their tongues: judge them, O God. Let them fall from their devices: according to the multitude of their wickedness cast them out: for they have provoked thee, O Lord.


6 And the children of Israel fled before Juda, and the Lord delivered them into their hand.


3 And there will I command the children of Israel, and the altar shall be sanctified by my glory.


4 And he said: Fill four buckets with water, and pour it upon the burnt offering, and upon the wood. And again he said: Do the same the second time. And when they had done it the second time, he said: Do the same also the third time. And they did so the third time.


5 And they destroyed the cities: and they filled every goodly field, every man casting his stone: and they stopt up all the springs of waters: and cut down all the trees that bore fruit, so that brick walls only remained: and the city was beset by the slingers, and a great part thereof destroyed.


For we are bondmen, and in our bondage our God hath not forsaken us, but hath extended mercy upon us before the king of the Persians, to give us life, and to set up the house of our God, and rebuild the desolations thereof, and to give us a fence in Juda and Jerusalem.


Keep me from the snare, which they have laid for me, and from the stumblingblocks of them that work iniquity.


In those days I Daniel mourned the days of three weeks.


You shall not eat thereof any thing raw, nor boiled in water, but only roasted at the fire: you shall eat the head with the feet and entrails thereof.


Send me also cedars, and fir trees, and pine trees from Libanus: for I know that thy servants are skilful in cutting timber in Libanus, and my servants shall be with thy servants,
