40 3 And Aaron and his sons shall use them when they shall go in to the tabernacle of the testimony, or when they approach the altar to minister in the sanctuary, lest being guilty of iniquity they die. It shall be a law for ever to Aaron, and to his seed after him.

And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:


It shall have the two edges joined in the top on both sides, that they may be closed together.


8 He offered also a ram for a holocaust: and when Aaron and his sons had put their hands upon its head,


2 And taking some of the blood of the calf, thou shalt put it upon the horns of the altar with thy finger, and the rest of the blood thou shalt pour at the bottom thereof.


And they shall take gold, and violet, and purple, and scarlet twice dyed, and fine linen.


4 Salute one another with a holy kiss. Grace be to all you, who are in Christ Jesus. Amen.


But when the goodness and kindness of God our Savior appeared:


Admonish them to be subject to princes and powers, to obey at a word, to be ready to every good work.


1 And thou shalt kill him in the sight of the Lord, beside the door of the tabernacle of the testimony.


9 And this shall be to you an everlasting ordinance: The seventh month, the tenth day of the month, you shall afflict your souls, and shall do no work, whether it be one of your own country, or a stranger that sojourneth among you.


Rejoice, and give praise together, O ye deserts of Jerusalem: for the Lord hath comforted his people: he hath redeemed Jerusalem.
