4 And the king turned his face, and blessed all the assembly of Israel: for all the assembly of Israel stood.


Hear, O ye heavens, the things I speak, let the earth give ear to the words of my mouth.


3 For if the blood of goats and of oxen, and the ashes of an heifer being sprinkled, sanctify such as are defiled, to the cleansing of the flesh:


Then all the multitude of the children of Israel setting forward from the desert of Sin, by their mansions, according to the word of the Lord, encamped in Raphidim, where there was no water for the people to drink.


0 As it is written: There is not any man just.


2 Which of the prophets have not your fathers persecuted? And they have slain them who foretold of the coming of the Just One; of whom you have been now the betrayers and murderers:


7 And Joiada made a covenant between the Lord, and the king, and the people, that they should be the people of the Lord, and between the king and the people.


Moses therefore brought out all the rods from before the Lord to all the children of Israel: and they saw, and every one received their rods.


4 All the gold that was spent in the work of the sanctuary, and that was offered in gifts was nine and twenty talents, and seven hundred and thirty sicles according to the standard of the sanctuary.


2 And all the children of Israel came to him: and he gave them in commandment all that he had heard of the Lord in mount Sinai.


8 But he answered: It is not the cry of men encouraging to fight, nor the shout of men compelling to flee: but I hear the voice of singers.


And the people did what he had commanded, bringing the earrings to Aaron.


And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:


You shall not offer upon it incense of another composition nor oblation, and victim, neither shall you offer libations.


And thou shalt speak to all the wise of heart, whom I have filled with the spirit of wisdom, that they may make Aaron's vestments, in which he being consecrated may minister to me.


4 And thou shalt overlay it with the purest gold: and thou shalt make to it a golden ledge round about.


6 Thou shalt make also a hanging in the entrance of the tabernacle of violet and purple, and scarlet twice dyed, and fine twisted linen with embroidered work.


5 Placing the lamps in order, according to the precept of the Lord.


1 And said to the children of Israel: When your children shall ask their fathers, to morrow, and shall say to them: What mean these stones?


6 And Joiada made a covenant between himself and all the people, and the king, that they should be the people of the Lord.
