3 Fire consumed their young men: and their maidens were not lamented.


7 And he destroyed their vineyards with hail, and their mulberry trees with hoarfrost.


Let your manners be without covetousness, contented with such things as you have; for he hath said: I will not leave thee, neither will I forsake thee.


And Jesus hearing it, said to them: This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God: that the Son of God may be glorified by it.


8 But if I do, though you will not believe me, believe the works: that you may know and believe that the Father is in me, and I in the Father.


4 And the people said to Josue: We will serve the Lord our God, and we will be obedient to his commandments.


6 Go, gather together the ancients of Israel, and thou shalt say to them: The Lord God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath appeared to me, saying: Visiting I have visited you: and I have seen all that hath befallen you in Egypt.


8 Let no man seduce you, willing in humility, and religion of angels, walking in the things which he hath not seen, in vain puffed up by the sense of his flesh,


Be ye not therefore partakers with them.


Thou shalt separate to thee three cities in the midst of the land, which the Lord will give thee in possession,


6 He could not bring the people into the land for which he had sworn, therefore did he kill them in the wilderness.

0 And behold rising up very early in the morning, they went up to the top of the mountain, and said: We are ready to go up to the place, of which the Lord hath spoken: for we have sinned.


And I will send an angel before thee, that I may cast out the Chanaanite, and the Amorrhite, and the Hethite, and the Pherezite, and the Hevite, and the Jebusite.


I have heard the groaning of the children of Israel, wherewith the Egyptians have oppressed them: and I have remembered my covenant.


Have in mind therefore in what manner thou hast received and heard: and observe, and do penance. If then thou shalt not watch, I will come to thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know at what hour I will come to thee.


7 He, that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith to the churches: To him that overcometh, I will give the hidden manna, and will give him a white counter, and in the counter, a new name written, which no man knoweth, but he that receiveth it.


7 And when I had seen him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying: Fear not. I am the First and the Last,


For thou hast struck all them who are my adversaries without cause: thou hast broken the teeth of sinners.


6 But because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold, not hot, I will begin to vomit thee out of my mouth.


I was exceeding glad, that I found of thy children walking in truth, as we have received a commandment from the Father.


Seeing then it remaineth that some are to enter into it, and they, to whom it was first preached, did not enter because of unbelief:


3 Then the disciples understood, that he had spoken to them of John the Baptist.


And thou Bethlehem the land of Juda art not the least among the princes of Juda: for out of thee shall come forth the captain that shall rule my people Israel.


4 And I have seen the likeness of adulterers, and the way of lying in the peophets of Jerusalem: and they strengthened the hand of the wicked, that no man should return from his evil doings: that are all become unto me as Sodom, and the inhabitants thereof as Gamorrha.


5 Behold I will bring upon you a nation from afar, O house of Israel, saith the Lord: a strong nation, an ancient nation, a nation whose language thou shalt not know, nor understand what they say.


For they seek me from day to day, sad desire to know my ways, as a nation that hath done justice, and hath not forsaken the judgment of their God: they ask of me the judgments of justice: they are willing to approach to God.


4 Thus saith the Lord: The labour of Egypt, and the merchandise of Ethiopia, and of Sabaim, men of stature shall come over to thee, and shall be thins: they shall walk after thee, they shall go bound with manacles: and they shall worship thee, and shall make supplication to thee: only in thee is God, and there is no God besides thee.


6 And I will lead the blind into the way which they know not: and in the paths which they were ignorant of I will make them walk: I will make darkness light before them, and crooked things straight: these things have I done to them, and have not forsaken them.


4 And the Lord shall destroy out of Israel the head and the tail, him that bendeth down, and him that holdeth back, in one day.


2 And for the abundance of milk he shall eat butter: for butter and honey shall every one eat that shall be left in the midst of the land.


For the lawgiver shall give a blessing, they shall go from virtue to virtue: the God of gods shall be seen in Sion.


Therefore pride hath held them fast: they are covered with their iniquity and their wickedness.


2 And said to me: Arise, and go down from hence quickly: for thy people, which thou hast brought out of Egypt, have quickly forsaken the way that thou hast shewn them, and have made to themselves a molten idol.


3 And his wife answered him: If the Lord had a mind to kill us, he would not have received a holocaust and libations at our hands, neither would he have shewed us all these things, nor have told us the things that are to come.


3 And the people are not returned to him who hath struck them, and have not sought after the Lord of hosts.


And you are cursed with want, and you afflict me, even the whole nation of you.
