I am smitten as grass, and my heart is withered: because I forgot to eat my bread.


2 As the roaring of a lion, so also is the anger of a king: and his cheerfulness as the dew upon the grass.


9 Saying to Moses: Speak thou to us, and we will hear: let not the Lord speak to us, lest we die.


8 I will give thanks to thee in a great church; I will praise thee in a strong people.


5 Why shall we die therefore, and why shall this exceeding great Are consume us: for if we hear the voice of the Lord our God any more, we shall die.


1 And for his trespass he shall offer a ram to the Lord, at the door of the tabernacle of the testimony:


And the beast, which I saw, was like to a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion. And the dragon gave him his own strength, and great power.


6 Destruction and misery in their ways:


6 He that keepeth the commandment, keepeth his own soul: but he that neglecteth his own way, shall die.


For the time past is sufficient to have fulfilled the will of the Gentiles, for them who have walked in riotousness, lusts, excess of wine, revellings, banquetings, and unlawful worshipping of idols.


2 And all that will live godly in Christ Jesus, shall suffer persecution.


And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath delivered himself for us, an oblation and a sacrifice to God for an odour of sweetness.


These are also parables of Solomon, which the men of Ezechias king of Juda copied out.


The fruit of humility is the fear of the Lord, riches and glory and life.


5 As a tempest that passeth, so the wicked shall be no more: but the just is as an everlasting foundation.


6 For the price of a harlot is scarce one loaf: but the woman catcheth the precious soul of a man.


The Lord is the portion of my inheritance and of my cup: it is thou that wilt restore my inheritance to me.


6 Thou shalt not be a detractor nor a whisperer among the people. Thou shalt not stand against the blood of thy neighbour. I am the Lord.


6 And the first came, saying: Lord, thy pound hath gained ten pounds.


2 And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape, as a dove upon him; and a voice came from heaven: Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased.

As a bird flying to other places, and a sparrow going here or there: so a curse uttered without cause shall come upon a man.


5 As cold water to a thirsty soul, so is good tidings from a far country.


Many men are called merciful: but who shall find a faithful man?


1 An evil man always seeketh quarrels: but a cruel angel shall be sent against him.


4 The hand of the valiant shall bear rule: but that which is slothful, shall be under tribute.


May he not suffer thy foot to be moved: neither let him slumber that keepeth thee.


Because they have not understood the works of the Lord, and the operations of his hands: thou shalt destroy them, and shalt not build them up.


2 Now Berzellai the Galaadite was of a great age, that is to say, fourscore years old, and he provided the king with sustenance when he abode in the camp: for he was a man exceeding rich.
