It behoveth therefore a bishop to be blameless, the husband of one wife, sober, prudent, of good behaviour, chaste, given to hospitality, a teacher,


Who, by the power of God, are kept by faith unto salvation, ready to be revealed in the last time.


He hath sent from heaven and delivered me: he hath made them a reproach that trod upon me. God hath sent his mercy and his truth,


And to some who trusted in themselves as just, and despised others, he spoke also this parable:


3 And Josue put Amalec and his people to flight, by the edge of the sword.


5 And Moses built an altar: and called the name thereof, The Lord my exaltation, saying:


1 As Moses the servant of the Lord had commanded the children of Israel, and it is written in the book of the law of Moses: an altar of unhewn stones which iron had not touched: and he offered upon it holocausts to the Lord, and immolated victims of peace offerings.


3 Thou hast sold thy people for no price : and there was no reckoning in the exchange of them.
