8 They provoked him to anger on their hills: and moved him to jealousy with their graven things.

8 But he led them about by the way of the desert, which is by the Red Sea: and the children of Israel went up armed out of the land of Egypt.


Remember them that are in bands, as if you were bound with them; and them that labour, as being yourselves also in the body.


For the idols have spoken what was unprofitable, and the diviners have seen a lie, and the dreamers have spoken vanity: they comforted in vain: therefore they were led away as a dock: they shall be afflicted, because they have no shepherd.


1 But if thou wilt not go forth, this is the word which the Lord hath shewn me:


4 And king Sedecias sent, and took Jeremias the prophet to him to the third gate, that was in the house of the Lord: and the king said to Jeremias: I will ask thee a thing, hide nothing from me.

And the Lord said to Moses and Aaron: Take to you handfuls of ashes out of the chimney, and let Moses sprinkle it in the air in the presence of Pharao.


1 And Pharao calling Moses and Aaron, in the night, said: Arise and go forth from among my people, you and the children of Israel: go, sacrifice to the Lord as you say.


7 And they turned away, and kept not the covenant: even like their fathers they were turned aside as a crooked bow.


3 Thou wentest forth for the salvation of thy people: for salvation with thy Christ. Thou struckest the head of the house of the wicked: thou hast laid bare his foundation even to the neck.


4 But I will judge the nation which they shall serve, and after this they shall come out with great substance.


And he said: Thus said the Lord: At midnight I will enter into Egypt.


9 I will plant in the wilderness the cedar, and the thorn, and the myrtle, and the olive tree: I will set in the desert the fir tree, the elm, and the box tree together:
