Bring my soul out of prison, that I may praise thy name: the just wait for me, until thou reward me.


5 But they rejoiced against me, and came together : scourges were gathered together upon me, and I knew not.


The first was like a lioness, and had the wings of an eagle: I beheld till her wings were plucked off, and she was lifted up from the earth, and stood upon her feet as a man, and the heart of a man was given to her.


5 But those mer. perceiving the king's design, said to him: Know thou, O king, that the law of the Medes and Persians is, that no decree which the king hath made, may be altered.


6 For thee my flesh and my heart hath fainted away: thou art the God of my heart, and the God that is my portion for ever.

And king Assuerus answered and said: Who is this, and of what power, that he should do these things?


Answered: The man whom the king desireth to honour,


6 And the king said: Inquire thou, whose son this man is.


7 And the flesh of Jezabel shall be as dung upon the face of the earth in the field of Jezrahel, so that they who pass by shall say: Is this that same Jezabel?


2 And one day of revenge was appointed through all the provinces, to wit, the thirteenth of the twelfth month Adar.


9 But those Jews that dwelt in towns not walled and in villages, appointed the fourteenth day of the month Adar for banquets and gladness, so as to rejoice on that day, and send one another portions of their banquets and meats.
