5 And I went up in the night by the torrent, and viewed the wall, and going back I came to the gate of the valley, and returned.


For what things soever were written, were written for our learning: that through patience and the comfort of the scriptures, we might have hope.

2 Then some of the chief men of the sons of Ephraim, Azarias the son of Johanan, Barachias the son of Mosollamoth, Ezechias the son of Sellum, and Amasa the son of Adali, stood up against them that came from the war.


1 And again Pharao said to Joseph: Behold, I have appointed thee over the whole land of Egypt.


4 Wherefore he hath sent the part of the hand which hath written this that is set down.


In the first month (which is called Nisan) in the twelfth year a of the reign of Assuerus, the lot was cast into an urn, which in Hebrew is called Phur, before Aman, on what day and what month the nation of the Jews should be destroyed: and there came out the twelfth month, which is called Adar.
