With a good will serving, as to the Lord, and not to men.


2 And if a man prevail against one, two shall withstand him: a threefold cord is not easily broken.


4 Some distribute their own goods, and grow richer: others take away what is not their own, and are always in want.


9 Hath the workman cast a graven statue? or hath the goldsmith formed it with gold, or the silversmith with plates of silver?


And you shall hear of wars and rumours of wars. See that ye be not troubled. For these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.


To them indeed, who according to patience in good work, seek glory and honour and incorruption, eternal life:


I will destroy thy cities, and thou shalt be desolate: and thou shalt know that I am the Lord.


3 And Adam said: This now is bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called woman, because she was taken out of man.


4 Be not therefore solicitous for to morrow; for the morrow will be solicitous for itself. Sufficient for the day is the evil thereof.


And you, fathers, provoke not your children to anger; but bring them up in the discipline and correction of the Lord.


Not serving to the eye, as it were pleasing men, but, as the servants of Christ doing the will of God from the heart,
