12 But all things are kept uncertain for the time to come, because all things equally happen to the just and to the wicked, to the good and to the evil, to the clean and to the unclean, to him that offereth victims, and to him that despiseth sacrifices. As the good is, so also is the sinner: as the perjured, so he also that sweareth truth.

8 The Lord knoweth the days of undefiled; and their inheritance shall be for ever.


8 For, speaking proud words of vanity, they allure by the desires of fleshly riotousness, those who for a little while escape, such as converse in error:


2 For thy conscience knoweth that thou also hast often spoken evil of others.


1 Who knoweth if the spirit of the children of Adam ascend upward, and if the spirit of the beasts descend downward?


0 What then shall we say? That the Gentiles, who followed not after justice, have attained to justice, even the justice that is of faith.


8 And her neighbours and kinsfolks heard that the Lord had shewed his great mercy towards her, and they congratulated with her.


3 For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.


2 For I was hungry, and you gave me not to eat: I was thirsty, and you gave me not to drink.


5 I have surveyed all things with my mind, to know, and consider, and seek out wisdom and reason: and to know the wickedness of the fool, and the error of the imprudent:


If a man beget a hundred children, and live many years, and attain to a great age, and his soul make no use of the goods of his substance, and he be without burial: of this man I pronounce, that the untimely born is better than he.


In the mouth of a fool is the rod of pride: but the lips of the wise preserve them.


Because he hath inclined his ear unto me: and in my days I will call upon him.


his heart is strengthened, he shall not be moved until he look over his enemies.


A fire shall go before him, and shall burn his enemies round about.


5 And say ye: Save us, O God our saviour: and gather us together, and deliver us from the nations, that we may give glory to thy holy name, and may rejoice in singing thy praises.


And there passed three years without war between Syria and Israel.


0 Beware lest thou imitate them, after they are destroyed at thy coming in, and lest thou seek after their ceremonies, saying: As these nations have worshipped their gods, so will I also worship.


2 Pharao therefore charged all his people, saying: Whatsoever shall be born of the male sex, ye shall cast into the river: whatsoever of the female, ye shall save alive.


5 And these are the testimonies and ceremonies and judgments, which he spoke to the children of Israel, when they came out of Egypt,


If there rise in the midst of thee a prophet or one that saith he hath dreamed a dream, and he foretell a sign and a wonder,


The wicked have wrought upon my back: they have lengthened their iniquity.


4 For they are lost with very great affliction: he hath begotten a son, who shall be in extremity of want.


Shew me, O thou whom my soul loveth, where thou feedest, where thou liest in the midday, lest I begin to wander after the flocks of thy companions.


God doth not cast away the mighty, whereas he himself also is mighty.


1 He that hath respect to a person in judgment, doth not well: such a man even for a morsel of bread forsaketh the truth.


8 But since we left off to offer sacrifice to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings to her, we have wanted all things, and have been consumed by the sword, and by famine.
