Baltasar the king made a great feast for a thousand of his nobles: and every one drank according to his age.


These things are in my ears, saith the Lord of hosts: Unless many great and fair houses shall become desolate, without an inhabitant.


Many waters cannot quench charity, neither can the floods drown it: if a man should give all the substance of his house for love, he shall despise it as nothing.


Stay me up with flowers, compass me about with apples: because I languish with love.


8 For in his lifetime his soul will be blessed: and he will praise thee when thou shalt do well to him.


5 And he made in Jerusalem engines of diverse kinds, which he placed in the towers, and in the corners of the walls, to shoot arrows, and great stones: and his name went forth far abroad, for the Lord helped him, and had strengthened him.


6 Solomon had all charges prepared, from the day that he founded the house of the Lord, until the day wherein he finished it.


2 And Jonathan David's uncle, a counsellor, a wise and learned man: he and Jahiel the son of Hachamoni were with the king's sons.


4 And he slept with his fathers, and was buried with them in the city of David his father. And Josaphat his son reigned in his place.


But if you and your children revolting shall turn away from following me, and will not keep my commandments, and my ceremonies, which I have set before you, but will go and worship strange gods, and adore them:


3 He answered: But what if I run? And he said to him: Run. Then Achimaas running by a nearer way passed Chusai.


And they said: Come, let us make a city and a tower, the top whereof may reach to heaven: and let us make our name famous before we be scattered abroad into all lands.
