Considering I found also another vanity under the sun:


Calling to mind that faith which is in thee unfeigned, which also dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and in thy mother Eunice, and I am certain that in thee also.


For the living know that they shall die, but the dead know nothing more, neither have they a reward any more: for the memory of them is forgotten.


1 One is the glory of the sun, another the glory of the moon, and another the glory of the stars. For star differeth from star in glory.


3 Only beware of this, that thou eat not the blood, for the blood is for the soul: and therefore thou must not eat the soul with the flesh:


5 And having spoken the word of the Lord in Perge, they went down into Attalia:


0 Have we not all one father? hath not one God created us? why then doth every one of us despise his brother, violating the covenant of our fathers?


Better it is to see what thou mayst desire, than to desire that which thou canst not know. But this also is vanity, and presumption of spirit.


7 Thou mayst not eat in thy towns the tithes of thy corn, and thy wine, and thy oil, the firstborn of thy herds and thy cattle, nor any thing that thou vowest, and that thou wilt offer voluntarily, and the firstfruits of thy hands:


5 And that they should proclaim and publish the word in all their cities, and in Jerusalem, saying: Go forth to the mount, and fetch branches of olive, and branches of beautiful wood, branches of myrtle, and branches of palm, and branches of thick trees, to make tabernacles, as it is written.


0 And whatsoever my eyes desired, I refused them not: and I withheld not my heart from enjoying every pleasure, and delighting itself in the things which I had prepared: and esteemed this my portion, to make use of my own labour.


A time to get, and a time to lose. A time to keep, and a time to cast away.


Oppression troubleth the wise, and shall destroy the strength of his heart.


And behind the door, and behind the post thou best set up thy remembrance: for thou hast discovered thyself near me, and hast received an adulterer: thou hast enlarged thy bed, and made a covenant with them: thou hast loved their bed with open hand.


5 And Juda and Israel dwelt without any fear, every one under his vine, and under his fig tree, from Dan to Bersabee, all the days of Solomon.


7 And therefore I was weary of my life, when I saw that all things under the sun are evil, and all vanity and vexation of spirit.


For he came in vain, and goeth to darkness, and his name shall be wholly forgotten.
