8 They are a nation without counsel, and without wisdom.


8 As I live, (saith the King, whose name is the Lord of hosts,) as Thabor is among the mountains, and as Carmel by the sea, so shall he come.


3 Mem. To what shall I compare thee? or to what shall I liken thee, O daughter of Jerusalem? to what shall I equal thee, that I may comfort thee, O virgin daughter of Sion? for great as the sea is thy destruction: who shall heal thee?


2 Her voice shall sound like brass, for they shall hasten with an army, and with axes they shall come against her, as hewers of wood.


2 And you shall be my people: and I will be your God.


8 And I will repay first their double iniquities, and their sins: because they have defiled my land with the carcasses of their idols, and they have filled my inheritance with their abominations.


0 Rebuke the wild beasts of the reeds, the congregation of bulls with the kine of the people; who seek to exclude them who are tried with silver. Scatter thou the nations that delight in wars:


2 And the daughters of Tyre with gifts, yea, all the rich among the people, shall entreat thy countenance.


Man born of a woman, living for a short time, is filled with many miseries.


7 How are the valiant fallen, and the weapons of war perished?


3 And thorns and nettles shall grow up in its houses, and the thistle in the fortresses thereof: and it shall be the habitation of dragons, and the pasture of ostriches.


And the word of the Lord came to me the second time, saying:


3 All the glory of the king's daughter is within in golden borders,
