9 Who are thy people and thy inheritance, whom thou hast brought out by thy great strength, and in thy stretched out arm.

2 Hearken to me, O Jacob, and thou Israel whom I call: I am he, I am the first, and I am the last.


5 He struck the rock in the wilderness: and gave them to drink, as out of the great deep.


3 And much people were assembled to Jerusalem to celebrate the solemnity of the unleavened bread in the second month:


When I went up into the mount to receive the tables of stone, the tables of the covenant which the Lord made with you: and I continued in the mount forty days and nights, neither eating bread, nor drinking water.


8 And I fell down before the Lord se before, forty days and nights neither eating bread, nor drinking water, for all your sins, which you had committed against the Lord, and had provoked him to wrath:


Hear, O ye heavens, the things I speak, let the earth give ear to the words of my mouth.


1 Forty years didst thou feed them in the desert, and nothing was wanting to them: their garments did not grow old, and their feet were not worn.


0 And Samuel said to the people: Fear not, you have done all this evil: but yet depart not from following the Lord, but serve the Lord with all your heart.


4 Our kings, our princes, our priests, and our fathers have not kept thy law, and have not minded thy commandments, and thy testimonies which thou hast testified among them.


4 And had rained down manna upon them to eat, and had given them the bread of heaven.


7 A thousand men shall flee for fear of one: and for fear of five shall you flee, till you be left as the mast of a ship on the top of a mountain, and as an ensign upon a hill.


1 The prophets prophesied falsehood, and the priests clapped their hands: and my people loved such things: what then shall be done in the end thereof?


9 And I said to them: What meaneth the high place to which you go? and the name thereof was called High-place even to this day.
