14 9 Now therefore write you this canticle, and teach the children of Israel: that they may know it by heart, and sing it by mouth, and this song may be unto me for a testimony among the children of Israel.

8 And the Lord said to him: Take Josue the son of Nun, a man in whom is the Spirit, and put thy hand upon him.


8 Gather unto me all the ancients of your tribes, and your doctors, and I will speak these words in their hearing, and will call heaven and earth to witness against them.

And Moses called Josue, and said to him before all Israel: Take courage, and be valiant: for thou shalt bring this people into the land which the Lord swore he would give to their fathers, and thou shalt divide it by lot.


And when the Lord was come down in a cloud, Moses stood with him, calling upon the name of the Lord.


0 But I will sleep with my fathers, end thou shalt take me away out of this land, and bury me in the burying place of my ancestors. And Joseph answered him: I will do what thou hast commanded.


2 And Moses said to the Lord; Thou commandest me to lead forth this people: and thou dost not let me know whom thou wilt send with me, especially whereas thou hast said: I know thee by name, and thou hast found favour in my sight.


7 And may go out and in before them, and may lead them out, or bring them in: lest the people of the Lord be as sheep without a shepherd.


7 And scatter you among all nations, and you shall remain a few among the nations, to which the Lord shall lead you.


8 But I will hide, and cover my face in that day, for all the evils which they have done, because they have followed strange gods..


5 And David said to Abner: Art not thou a man? and who is like thee in Israel? why then hast thou not kept thy lord the king? for there came one of the people in to kill the king thy lord.


Do therefore according to thy wisdom, and let not his hoary head go down to hell in peace.


4 And the Lord said: My face shall go before thee, and I will give thee rest.


3 And laying his hands on his head, he repeated all things that the Lord had commanded.


And I will add to thy days fifteen years: and I will deliver thee and this city out of the hand of the king of the Assyrians, and I will protect this city for my own sake, and for David my servant's sake.
