In chastity, in knowledge, in longsuffering, in sweetness, in the Holy Ghost, in charity unfeigned,


4 While Peter was yet speaking these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them that heard the word.


Ask ye of the Lord rain in the latter season, and the Lord will make snows, and will give them showers of rain, to every one grass in the field.


Is not this rather the fast that I have chosen? loose the bands of wickedness, undo the bundles that oppress, let them that are broken go free, and break asunder every burden.


4 Excepting women and children, cattle and other things, that are in the city. And thou shalt divide all the prey to the army, and thou shalt eat the spoils of thy enemies, which the Lord thy God shall give thee.


6 But of those cities that shall be given thee, thou shalt suffer none at all to live:


8 For as to our own daughters we cannot give them, being bound with an oath and a curse, whereby we said: Cursed be he that shall give Benjamin any of his daughters to wife.


1 And the Lord said to me: Behold I have begun to deliver unto thee Sehon and his land, begin to possess it.


7 And he sent messengers to the king of Edom, saying: Suffer me to pass through thy land. But he would not condescend to his request. He sent also to the king of Moab, who likewise refused to give him passage. He abode therefore in Cades,
