8 And he sent Juda before him to Joseph, to tell him; and that he should meet him in Gessen.


The children of Israel increased, and sprung up into multitudes, and growing exceedingly strong they filled the land.


And he thought him forth abroad, and said to him: Look up to heaven and number the stars, if thou canst. And he said to him: So shall thy seed be.


5 And I took out of your tribes men wise and honourable, and appointed them rulers, tribunes, and centurions, and officers over fifties, and over tens, who might teach you all things.


8 But after they had rest, they returned to do evil in thy sight : and thou leftest them in the hand of their enemies, and they had dominion over them. Then they returned, and cried to thee: and thou heardest from heaven, and deliveredst them many times in thy mercies.


7 In the morning thou shalt say: Who will grant me evening? and at evening: Who will grant me morning? for the fearfulness of thy heart, wherewith thou shalt be terrified, and for those things which thou shalt see with thy eyes.


2 And Moses was instructed in all the wisdom of the Egyptians; and he was mighty in his words and in his deeds.


6 Whatsoever shall fall by lot, that shall be taken by the more, or the fewer.


1 By faith Jacob dying, blessed each of the sons of Joseph, and adored the top of his rod.


And they stood before Moses and Eleazar the priest, and all the princes of the people at the door of the tabernacle of the covenant, and said:


7 I will bless thee, and I will multiply thy seed as the stars of heaven, and as the sand that is by the seashore: thy seed shall possess the gates of their enemies.


0 And therefore now I offer the firstfruits of the land which the Lord hath given me. And thou shalt leave them in the sight of the ford thy God, adoring the Lord thy God.


7 And the sons of Joseph, that were born to him in the land of Egypt, two souls. All the souls of the house of Jacob, that entered into Egypt, were seventy.


6 And I commanded them, saying: Hear them, and judge that which is just: whether he be one of your country, or a stranger.
