8 That day God made a covenant with Abram, saying: To thy seed will I give this land, from the river of Egypt even to the great river Euphrates.


And the Lord appeared to Abram, and said to him: To thy seed will I give this land. And he built there an altar to the Lord, who had appeared to him.


6 But in the fourth generation they shall return hither: for as yet the iniquities of the Amorrhites are not at the full until this present time.


To whom also Abraham divided the tithes of all: who first indeed by interpretation, is king of justice: and then also king of Salem, that is, king of peace:


Without father, without mother, without genealogy, having neither beginning of days nor end of life, but likened unto the Son of God, continueth a priest for ever.


And he said to Moses: Come up to the Lord, thou, and Aaron, Nadab, and Abiu, and seventy of the ancients of Israel, and you shall adore afar off.


And the people hearing these very bad tidings, mourned: and no man put on his ornaments according to custom.


8 Say therefore to them: As I live, saith the Lord: According as you have spoken in my hearing, so will I do to you.


6 But they coming near, said: We will make sheepfolds, and stalls for our cattle, and strong cities for our children :


6 And I commanded them, saying: Hear them, and judge that which is just: whether he be one of your country, or a stranger.


9 And when the Lord thy God shall have brought thee into the land, whither thou goest to dwell, thou shalt put the blessing upon mount Garizim, the curse upon mount Hebal:


0 And thou gavest them thy good Spirit to teach them, and thy manna thou didst not withhold from their mouth, and thou gavest them water for their thirst.


0 For the children of Israel, and the children of Juda, have continually done evil in my eyes from their youth: the children of Israel who even till now provoke me with the work of their hands, saith the Lord.


2 And you shall divide it by lot for an inheritance to you, and to the strangers that shall come over to you, that shall beget children among you: and they shall be unto you as men of the same country born among the children of Israel: they shall divide the possession with you in the midst of the tribes of Israel.


0 But return you and go into the wilderness by the way of the Red Sea.


4 And we took all his cities at that time, killing the inhabitants of them, men and women and children. We left nothing of them:


And you shall observe, and fulfil them in practice. For this is your wisdom, and understanding in the sight of nations, that hearing all these precepts, they may say: Behold a wise and understanding people, a great nation.


5 Because the Lord thy God is a jealous God in the midst of thee: lest at any time the wrath of the Lord thy God be kindled against thee, and take thee away from the face of the earth.


3 And he will love thee and multiply thee, and will bless the fruit of thy womb, and the fruit of thy land, thy corn, and thy vintage, thy oil, and thy herds, and the flocks of thy sheep upon the land, for which he swore to thy fathers that he would give it thee.


7 If thou say in thy heart: These nations are more than I, how shall I be able to destroy them?


8 Fear not, but remember what the Lord thy God did to Pharao and to all the Egyptians,


That thou shouldst keep the commandments of the Lord thy God, and walk in his ways, and fear him.


0 And the Lord gave me two tables of stone written with the finger of God, and containing all the words that he spoke to you in the mount from the midst of the Are, when the people were assembled together.


6 Circumcise therefore the foreskin of your heart, and stiffen your neck no more.


4 He will give to your land the early rain and the latter rain, that you may gather in your corn, and your wine, and your oil,


And brought us out of Egypt with a strong hand, and a stretched out arm, with great terror, with signs and wonders:


And Moses with the ancients of Israel commanded the people, saying: Keep every commandment that I command you this day.


6 Cursed shalt thou be in the city, cursed in the field.


7 You have seen their abominations and filth, that is to say, their idols, wood and stone, silver and gold, which they worshipped.


Therefore when the Lord shall have delivered these also to you, you shall do in like manner to them as I have commanded you,


2 And the people being all assembled together, both men and women, children and strangers, that are within thy gates: that hearing they may learn, and fear the Lord your God, and keep, and fulfil all the words of this law:


And Josue the son of Nun was filled with the spirit of wisdom, because Moses had laid his hands upon him. And the children of Israel obeyed him, and did as the Lord commanded Moses.


1 Prepare you victuals: for after the third day you shall pass over the Jordan and shall go in to possess the land, which the Lord your God will give you.


And Josue sent away the people, and the children of Israel went every one to his own possession to hold it:
