2 The Pharisees heard the people murmuring these things concerning him: and the rulers and Pharisees sent ministers to apprehend him.


But in the seventh year there shall be a sabbath to the land, of the resting of the Lord: thou shalt not sow thy field, nor prune thy vineyard.


4 And my rage shall be enkindled, and I will strike you with the sword, and your wives shall be widows, and your children fatherless.


Calling to mind that faith which is in thee unfeigned, which also dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and in thy mother Eunice, and I am certain that in thee also.


Conflicts of men corrupted in mind, and who are destitute of the truth, supposing gain to be godliness.


Like wax that melteth they shall be taken away: fire hath fallen on them, and they shall not see the sun.


These are the names of the valiant men of David. Jesbaham sitting in the chair was the wisest chief among the three, he was like the most tender little worm of the wood, who killed eight hundred men at one onset.


9 Now therefore write you this canticle, and teach the children of Israel: that they may know it by heart, and sing it by mouth, and this song may be unto me for a testimony among the children of Israel.


6 Cursed be he that honoureth not his father and mother: and all the people shall say: Amen.


9 When thou hast reaped the corn in thy field, and hast forgot and left a sheaf, thou shalt not return to take it away: but thou shalt suffer the stranger, and the fatherless and the widow to tabs it away: that the Lord thy God may bless thee in all the works of thy hands.


The Lord also said to Moses:


0 If a man carnally lie with a woman that is a bondservant and marriageable, and yet not redeemed with a price, nor made free: they both shall be scourged, and they shall not be put to death, because she was not a free woman.


0 For you are our glory and joy.


5 Far be it from thee to do this thing, and to slay the just with the wicked, and for the just to be in like case as the wicked, this is not beseeming thee: thou who judgest all the earth, wilt not make this judgment.


0 I said to you: You are come to the mountain of the Amorrhite, which the Lord our God will give to us.


And the first son he shall have of her he shall call by his name, that his name be not abolished out of Israel.


6 She hath considered a field, and bought it: with the fruit of her hands she hath planted a vineyard.
