As birds dying, so will the Lord of hosts protect Jerusalem, protecting and delivering, passing over and saving.


1 And bringing forth the people thereof he sawed them, and drove over them chariots armed with iron: and divided them with knives, and made them pass through brickkilns: so did he to all the cities of the children of Ammon: and David returned, with all the army to Jerusalem.

But they that are learned shall shine as the brightness of the firmament: and they that instruct many to justice, as stars for all eternity.


3 Therefore thus saith the Lord God: I will stretch forth my hand upon Edom, and will take away out of it man and beast, and will make it desolate from the south: and they that are in Dedan shall fall by the sword.


3 And the people are not returned to him who hath struck them, and have not sought after the Lord of hosts.


Blessed are they that dwell in thy house, O Lord: they shall praise thee for ever and ever.


And the Lord went on, and said to Job :


And David sent to Joab, saying: Send me Urias the Hethite. And Joab sent Urias to David.


There was another battle also in Geth, in which there was a man of great stature, whose fingers and toes were four and twenty, six on each hand and foot: who also was born of the stock of Rapha.

5 Thus saith the Lord God: Because the Philistines have taken vengeance, and have revenged themselves with all their mind, destroying and satisfying old enmities :


And Jonadab said to him: Lie down upon thy bed, and feign thyself sick: and when thy father shall come to visit thee, say to him: Let my sister Thamar, I pray thee, come to me, to give me to eat, and to make me a mess, that I may eat it at her hand.


And the word of the Lord came to me, saying:
