2 He saith to him: Out of thy own mouth I judge thee, thou wicked servant. Thou knewest that I was an austere man, taking up what I laid not down, and reaping that which I did not sow:


Thou enlightenest wonderfully from the everlasting hills.


1 Neither would he condescend to their desire to grant them passage through his borders. Wherefore Israel turned another way from him.


2 And the children of Israel went in through the midst of the sea dried up: for the water was as a wall on their right hand and on their left.


And the third poured out his vial upon the rivers and the fountains of waters; and there was made blood.


1 For both he that sanctifieth, and they who are sanctified, are all of one. For which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren, saying:


4 Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up those things that are wanting of the sufferings of Christ, in my flesh, for his body, which is the church:


9 And they stoned Stephen, invoking, and saying: Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.


8 This is he that was in the church in the wilderness, with the angel who spoke to him on mount Sina, and with our fathers; who received the words of life to give unto us.


9 But if it be of God, you cannot overthrow it, lest perhaps you be found even to fight against God. And they consented to him.


But many of them who had heard the word, believed; and the number of the men was made five thousand.


4 And all they that believed, were together, and had all things common.


3 The soldiers therefore, when they had crucified him, took his garments, (and they made four parts, to every soldier a part,) and also his coat. Now the coat was without seam, woven from the top throughout.


When Pilate therefore had heard this saying, he feared the more.


7 Why hast thou made us to err, O Lord, from thy ways: why hast thou hardened our heart, that we should not fear thee? return for the sake of thy servants, the tribes of thy inheritance.


That they may put their hope in God and may not forget the works of God: and may seek his commandments.


3 Now therefore your king is here, whom you have chosen and desired: Behold the Lord hath given you a king.


And behold Saul came, following oxen out of the field, and he said: What aileth the people that they weep? And they told him the words of the men of Jabes.


And the Lord said to Moses: Say to the children of Israel: Thou are a stiffnecked people; once I shall come up in the midst of thee, and shall destroy thee. Now presently lay aside thy ornaments, that I may know what to do with thee.


And I will send an angel before thee, that I may cast out the Chanaanite, and the Amorrhite, and the Hethite, and the Pherezite, and the Hevite, and the Jebusite.


7 And when Moses had stretched forth his hand towards the sea, it returned at the first break of day to the former place: and as the Egyptians were fleeing away, the waters came upon them, and the Lord shut them up in the middle of the waves.


6 And the priest of Madian had seven daughters, who came to draw water: and when the troughs were filled, desired to water their father's flocks.


4 And Jesus seeing that he had answered wisely, said to him: Thou art not far from the kingdom of God. And no man after that durst ask him any question.
