8 And he taking him, brought him to the tribune, and said: Paul, the prisoner, desired me to bring this young man unto thee, who hath some thing to say to thee.


(And when they heard that he spoke to them in the Hebrew tongue, they kept the more silence.)


And he entered into the hall again, and he said to Jesus: Whence art thou? But Jesus gave him no answer.


For you have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin:


5 I will hear thee, said he, when thy accusers come. And he commanded him to be kept in Herod's judgment hall.


But the Jews, moved with envy, and taking unto them some wicked men of the vulgar sort, and making a tumult, set the city in an uproar; and besetting Jason's house, sought to bring them out unto the people.


As the high priest doth bear me witness, and all the ancients: from whom also receiving letters to the brethren, I went to Damascus, that I might bring them bound from thence to Jerusalem to be punished.


6 Saying: Go to this people, and say to them: With the ear you shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing you shall see, and shall not perceive.
