2 Who, forthwith taking with him soldiers and centurions, ran down to them. And when they saw the tribune and the soldiers they left off beating Paul.


6 If any man in the field touch the corpse of a man that was slain, or that died of himself, or his bone, or his grave, he shall be unclean seven days.


Now he said this, not because he cared for the poor; but because he was a thief, and having the purse, carried the things that were put therein.
