And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, afterwards he was hungry.

2 And now I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, who is able to build up, and to give an inheritance among all the sanctified.


6 And the four and twenty ancients, who sit on their seats in the sight of God, fell on their faces and adored God, saying:


6 At my first answer no man stood with me, but all forsook me: may it not be laid to their charge.


4 Knowing that he who raised up Jesus, will raise us up also with Jesus, and place us with you.


2 So that even there were brought from his body to the sick, handkerchiefs and aprons, and the diseases departed from them, and the wicked spirits went out of them.


4 But the next sabbath day, the whole city almost came together, to hear the word of God.


6 And behold, he speaketh openly, and they say nothing to him. Have the rulers known for a truth, that this is the Christ?


2 And they said to the woman: We now believe, not for thy saying: for we ourselves have heard him, and know that this is indeed the Saviour of the world.


4 Now Philip was of Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter.


2 And he brought him to Jesus. And Jesus looking upon him, said: Thou art Simon the son of Jona: thou shalt be called Cephas, which is interpreted Peter.


7 And the two disciples heard him speak, and they followed Jesus.
