5 And they set an ambush against him on the top of the mountains: and while they waited for his coming, they committed robberies, taking spoils of all that passed by: and it was told Abimelech.


1 And it answered them: Can I leave my sweetness, and my delicious fruits, and go to be promoted among the other trees?


3 And David took more concubines and wives of Jerusalem, after he was come from Hebron: and there were born to David other sons also and daughters:


But Joachaz besought the face of the Lord, and the Lord heard him: for he saw the distress of Israel, because the king of Syria had oppressed them:


To thee have I lifted up my eyes, who dwellest in heaven.


Be astonished, and wander, waver, and stagger: be drunk, and not with wine: stagger, and not with drunkenness.


5 And David and all the house of Israel brought the ark of the covenant of the Lord with joyful shouting, and with sound of trumpet.


5 Thou knowest that the kingdom was nine, and all Israel had preferred me to be their king: but the kingdom is transferred, and is become my brother's: for it was appointed him by the Lord.


And the Lord gave Israel a saviour, and they were delivered out of the hand of the king of Syria: and the children of Israel dwelt in their pavilions as yesterday and the day before.
