5 So shalt thou do to all cities that are at a great distance from thee, and are not of these cities which thou shalt receive in possession.


1 And the king said to Joab: Behold I am appeased and have granted thy request: Go therefore and fetch back the boy Absalom.


3 So Joab was over all the army of Israel: and Banaias the son of Joiada was over the Cerethites and Phelethites,


5 And Siva was scribe: and Sadoc and Abiathar, priests.


And the spirit of the Lord shall come upon thee, and thou shalt prophesy with them, and shalt be changed into another man.


8 But may he incline our hearts to himself, that we may walk in all his ways, and keep his commandments, and his ceremonies, and all his judgments which he commanded our fathers.


9 To deliver their souls from death; and feed them in famine.


Pour out thy wrath upon the nations that have not known thee: and upon the kingdoms that have not called upon thy name.


2 And they believed his words: and they sang his praises.
