A man that speaketh to his friend with flattering and dissembling words, spreadeth a net for his feet.


1 And it came to pass in the twelfth year of our captivity, in the tenth month, in the fifth day of the month, that there came to me one that was fled from Jerusalem, saying: The city is laid waste.


Thou hast prepared a table before me against them that afflict me. Thou hast anointed my head with oil; and my chalice which inebriateth me, how goodly is it!


A peaceable tongue is a tree of life: but that which is immoderate, shall crush the spirit.


8 For hell shall not confess to thee, neither shall death praise thee: nor shall they that go down into the pit, look for thy truth.


Whose are the fathers, and of whom is Christ, according to the flesh, who is over all things, God blessed for ever. Amen.


7 Whereas then I was thus minded, did I use lightness? Or, the things that I purpose, do I purpose according to the flesh, that there should be with me, It is, and It is not?


9 For the Son of God, Jesus Christ who was preached among you by us, by me, and Sylvanus, and Timothy, was not, It is and It is not, but, It is, was in him.
