3 Now in the eighteenth year of his reign, when he had cleansed the land, and the temple of the Lord, he sent Saphan the son of Eselias, and Maasias the governor of the city, Joha the son of Joachaz the recorder, to repair the house of the Lord his God.

And he did that which was right in the sight of the Lord, and walked in the ways of David his father: he declined not, neither to the right hand, nor to the left.


Do you therefore take courage, and let not your hands he weakened: for there shall be a reward for your work.


4 The depths were not as yet, and I was already conceived. neither had the fountains of waters as yet sprung out:


2 And he did evil in the sight of the Lord, as Manasses his father had done: and he sacrificed to all the idols which Manasses his father had made, and served them.


I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.


Ask, and it shall be given you: seek, and you shall find: knock, and it shall be opened to you.

6 I will think of thy justifications: I will not forget thy words.

9 Moreover all the temples of the high places, which were in the cities of Samaria, which the kings of Israel had made to provoke the Lord, Josias took away: and he did to them according to all the acts that he had done in Bethel.


However the priests of the high places came not up to the altar of the Lord in Jerusalem: but only ate of the unleavened bread among their brethren.


In the fourth year of king Ezechias, which was the seventh year of Osee the son of Ela king of Israel, Salmanasar king of the Assyrians came up to Samaria, and besieged it,


And the king said to the man of God: Come home with me to dine, and I will make thee presents.


5 In the enemy's land, she shall keep a sabbath, and rest in the sabbaths of her desolation, because she did not rest in your sabbaths when you dwelt therein.


6 Neither shalt thou take of their daughters a wife for thy son, lest after they themselves have committed fornication, they make thy sons also to commit fornication with their gods.


And serve ye in the sanctuary by the families and companies of Levi.


3 A tumult of chariots hath astonished the inhabitants of Lachis: it is the beginning of sin to the daughter of Sion, for in thee were found the crimes of Israel.


2 In those days the Lord began to he weary of Israel: and Hazael ravaged them in all the coasts of Israel,


0 And Ezechias said: It is an easy matter for the shadow to go forward ten lines: and I do not desire that this be done, but let it return back ten degrees.


1 And he called upon the Lord God, and said: O Lord, there is no difference with thee, whether thou help with few, or with many: help us, O Lord our God: for with confidence in thee, and in thy name, we are come against this multitude. O Lord thou art our God, let not man prevail against thee.


0 And Manasses slept with his fathers. and they buried him in his house: and his son Amen reigned in his stead.


2 O God, be not thou far from me: O my God, make haste to my help.


8 Designs are strengthened by counsels: and wars are to be managed by governments.
