12 7 It shall not be you that shall fight, but only stand with confidence, and you shall see the help of the Lord over you, O Juda, and Jerusalem: fear ye not, nor be you dismayed: to morrow you shall go out against them, and the Lord will be with you.

2 Deliver Israel, O God, from all his tribulations.


I cried to thee, O Lord: I said: Thou art my hope, my portion in the land of the living.


1 If I shall whet my sword as the lightning, and my hand take hold on judgment: I will render vengeance to my enemies, and repay them that hate me.


For he hath said in his heart: I shall not be moved from generation to generation, and shall be without evil.


Thy hand destroyed the Gentiles, and thou plantedst them : thou didst afflict the people and cast them out.


Arise, and go to Ninive the great city: and preach in it the preaching that I bid thee.


6 And the king hath hearkened to me to deliver his handmaid out of the hand of all that would destroy me and my son together out of the inheritance of God.


8 So Samuel told him all the words, and did not hide them from him. And he answered: It is the Lord: let him do what is good in his sight.


2 And Jephte passed over to the children of Ammon, to fight against them: and the Lord delivered them into his hands.

5 Because he is gone down to day, and hath killed oxen, and fatlings, and many rams, and invited all the king's sons, and the captains of the army, and Abiathar the priest: and they are eating and drinking before him, and saying: God save king Adonias:


He that planted the ear, shall he not hear? or he that formed the eye, doth he not consider?
