8 And the things which his father had vowed, and he himself had vowed, he brought into the house of the Lord, gold and silver, and vessels of divers uses.


And Achab came into his house angry and fretting, because of the word that Naboth the Jezrahelite had spoken to him, saying: I will not give thee the inheritance of my fathers. And casting himself upon his bed, he turned away his face to the wall, and would eat no bread.


2 And you came all to me, and said: Let us send men who may view the land, and bring us word what way we shall go up, and to what cities we shall go.


1 And them that were without, p they struck with blindness from the least to the greatest, so that they could not find the door.


6 And the herald proclaimed through all the army before the sun set, saying: Let every man return to his own city, and to his own country.


4 And the fight was ended that day: but the king of Israel stood in his chariot against the Syrians until the evening, and died at the sunset.


And Jehu the son of Hanani the seer met him, and said to him: Thou helpest the ungodly, and thou art joined in friendship with them that hate the Lord, and therefore thou didst deserve indeed the wrath of the Lord:
