Or do you think that the scripture saith in vain: To envy doth the spirit covet which dwelleth in you?


5 But those mer. perceiving the king's design, said to him: Know thou, O king, that the law of the Medes and Persians is, that no decree which the king hath made, may be altered.


If the clouds be full, they will pour out rain upon the earth. If the tree fall to the south, or to the north, in what place soever it shall fall, there shall it be.


5 These things also I saw in the days of my vanity: A just man perisheth in his justice, and a wicked man liveth a long time in his wickedness.


6 God hath given to a man that is good in his sight, wisdom, and knowledge, and joy: but to the sinner he hath given vexation, and superfluous care, to heap up and to gather together, and to give it to him that hath pleased God: but this also is vanity, and a fruitless solicitude of the mind.


1 A fool is born to his own disgrace: and even his father shall not rejoice in a fool.


2 The desire of the wicked is the fortification of evil men: but the root of the just shall prosper.


2 One woe is past, and behold there come yet two woes more hereafter.
