2 Seest thou, that faith did co-operate with his works; and by works faith was made perfect?


7 He that speaketh that which he knoweth, sheweth forth justice: but he that lieth, is a deceitful witness.


7 And David slew them from the evening unto the evening of the next day, and there escaped not a man of them, but four hundred young men, who had gotten upon camels, and fled.


9 And there was nothing missing small or great, neither of their sons or their daughters, nor of the spoils, and whatsoever they had taken: David recovered all.


3 And David said to the young man that told him: Whence art thou? He answered: I am the son of a stranger of Amalee.


6 And the men feared the Lord exceedingly, and sacrificed victims to the Lord, and made vows.


And he said to me: Who art thou? And I said to him: I am an Amalecite.


8 (Also he commanded that they should teach the children of Juda the use of the bow, as it is written in the book of the just.) And he said: Consider, O Israel, for them that are dead, wounded on thy high places.
