9 A slave will not be corrected by words: because he understandeth what thou sayest, and will not answer.


5 For this is not wisdom, descending from above: but earthly, sensual, devilish.


A soul that is full shall tread upon the honeycomb : and a soul that is hungry shall take even bitter for sweet.

4 And as thy life hath been much set by this day in my eyes, so let my life be much set by in the eyes of the Lord, and let him deliver me from all distress.


1 And for his trespass he shall offer a ram to the Lord, at the door of the tabernacle of the testimony:


If thy father look and inquire for me, thou shalt answer him: David asked me that he might run to Bethlehem his own city: because there are solemn sacrifices there for all his tribe.


3 As also it is said in the old proverb: From the wicked shall wickedness come forth: therefore my hand shall not be upon thee. After whom dost thou come out, O king of Israel?


5 Be the Lord judge, and judge between me and thee, and see, and judge my cause, and deliver me out of thy hand.


3 And the Lord will reward every one according to his justice, and his faithfulness: for the Lord hath delivered thee this day into my hand, and I would not put forth my hand against the Lord's anointed.


And king Sedecias said: Behold he is in your hands: for it is not lawful for the king to deny you any thing.


And the priest answered David, saying: I have no common bread at hand, but only holy bread, if the young men be clean, especially from women?
