For the sake of the truth which dwelleth in us, and shall be with us for ever.


He shall rain snares upon sinners: fire and brimstone and storms of winds shall be the portion of their cup.


0 And Ezechias said: It is an easy matter for the shadow to go forward ten lines: and I do not desire that this be done, but let it return back ten degrees.


4 Then hear thou in heaven, and for- give the sin of thy people Israel, and bring them back to the land which thou gavest to their fathers.


For he hath delivered my soul from death: my eyes from tears, my feet from falling.


7 And the Lord being angry shut up heaven, that the rain come not down, nor the earth yield her fruit, and you perish quickly from the excellent land, which the Lord will give you.


Moreover all the children of Israel saw the fire coming down, and the glory of the Lord upon the house: and falling down with their faces to the ground, upon the stone pavement, they adored and praised the Lord: because he is good, because his mercy endureth for ever.


9 And we are witnesses of all things that he did in the land of the Jews and in Jerusalem, whom they killed, hanging him upon a tree.


7 But thou, when thou fastest anoint thy head, and wash thy face;


4 Thou shalt not commit adultery.


And in the four and twentieth day of the first month I was by the great river which is the Tigris.


She that hath borne seven is become weak, her soul hath fainted away: her sun is gone down, while it was yet day: she is confounded, and ashamed: and the residue of them I will give up to the sword in the sight of their enemies, saith the Lord.


6 Three times in a year shall all thy males appear before the Lord thy God in the place which he shall choose: in the feast of unleavened bread, in the feast of weeks, and in the feast of tabernacles. No one shall appear with his hands empty before the Lord:


6 Only the blood thou shalt not eat, but thou shalt pour it out upon the earth as water.


3 Moses and Aaron fled to the tabernacle of the covenant. And when the were gone into it, the cloud covered it, and the glory of the Lord appeared.


0 Neither do you consider that it is expedient for you that one man should die for the people, and that the whole nation perish not.


the earth hath yielded her fruit. May God, our God bless us,


6 But the things which thou hast sanctified and vowed to the Lord, thou shalt take, and shalt come to the place which the Lord shall choose:


0 You shall pass over the Jordan, and shall dwell in the land which the Lord your God will give you, that you may have rest from all enemies round about: and may dwell without any fear,


2 Therefore thus saith the Lord the God of Israel: Behold I will bring on evils upon Jerusalem and Juda: that whosoever shall hear of them, both his ears shall tingle.


2 And after that he was in distress he prayed to the Lord his God: and did penance exceedingly before the God of his fathers.


7 And they offered at the dedication of the house of God, a, hundred calves, two hundred rams, four hundred lambs, and for a sin offering for all Israel twelve he goats, according to the number of the tribes of Israel.


Take hold of arms and shield : and rise up to help me.


Thou shalt make also an altar to burn incense, of setim wood.


0 Fill up plentifully the streams thereof, multiply its fruits; it shall spring up and rejoice in its showers.


8 The children gather wood, and the fathers kindle the fire and the women knead the dough, to make cakes to the queen of heaven, and to offer libations to strange gods, and to provoke me to anger.
