8 Let them be confounded that persecute me, and let not me be confounded: let them be afraid, and let not me be afraid: bring upon them the day of affliction, and with a double destruction, destroy them.


And when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded in mind, because that every man heard them speak in his own tongue.


2 He sent therefore and brought him Now he was ruddy and beautiful to behold, and of a comely face. And the Lord said: Arise, and anoint him, for this is he.


1 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.


Have in mind therefore in what manner thou hast received and heard: and observe, and do penance. If then thou shalt not watch, I will come to thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know at what hour I will come to thee.


5 But there are also many other things which Jesus did; which, if they were written every one, the world itself, I think, would not be able to contain the books that should be written.


7 Behold I am the Lord the God of all flesh: shall any thing be hard for me?


Bring to the Lord glory and honour: bring to the Lord glory to his name: adore ye the Lord in his holy court.


5 Then hear thou from heaven their prayers, and their supplications, and revenge them.


1 Moreover also the stranger, who is not of thy people Israel, when he shall come out of a far country for thy name's sake, (for they shall hear every where of thy great name and thy mighty hand,


7 If a famine arise in the land, or a pestilence, or corrupt air, or blasting, or locust, or mildew, if their enemy afflict them besieging the gates, whatsoever plague, whatsoever infirmity,


And he went up and down among the lions, and became a lion: and he learned to catch the prey, and to devour men.


7 But for a testimony between us and you, and our posterity and yours, that we may serve the Lord, and that we may have a right to offer both holocausts, and victims and sacrifices of peace offerings: and that your children to morrow may not say to our children: You have no part in the Lord.


He raiseth up the needy from the dust, and lifteth up the poor from the dunghill: that he may sit with princes, and hold the throne of glory. For the poles of the earth are the Lord's, and upon them he hath set the world.


3 Then hear thou in heaven, in the firmament of thy dwelling place, and do all those things, for which that stranger shall call upon thee: that all the people of the earth may learn to fear thy name, as do thy people Israel, and may prove that thy name is called upon on this house, which I have built.


5 And then hear thou in heaven their prayers, and their supplications, and do judgment for them.


1 For in him our heart shall rejoice: and in his holy name we have trusted.


Let Israel hope in the Lord, from henceforth now and for ever.


If I ascend into heaven, thou art there: if I descend into hell, thou art present.
