0 For I have set my face against this city for evil, and not for good, saith the Lord: it shall be given into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall burn it with fire.


6 Thus saith the Lord: Make the channel of this torrent full of ditches.


These are the sacrifices which you shall offer: Two lambs of a year old without blemish every day for the perpetual holocaust:

3 And the Lord saved Israel that day. And the fight went on as far as Bethaven.


4 And to march from the west side of the city. And other ten thousand men chosen out of all Israel attacked the inhabitants of the city. And the battle grew hot against the children of Benjamin: and they understood not that present death threatened them on every side.


8 And Phinees the son of Eleazar the son of Aaron was over the house. So they consulted the Lord and said: Shall we go out any more to fight against the children of Benjamin our brethren, or shall we cease? And the Lord said to them: Go up, for to morrow I will deliver them into your hands.


3 Yet so that they first went up and wept before the Lord until night: and consulted him, and said: Shall I go out any more to fight against the children of Benjamin my brethren, or not? And he answered them: Go up against them, and join battle.


And Adonibezec fled: and they pursued after him and took him, and cut off his fingers and toes.


9 And they answered them: We have sworn to them in the name of the Lord the God of Israel, and therefore we may not touch them.


Then the king of Israel called an eunuch, and said to him: Make haste, and bring hither Micheas the son of Jemla.


1 And Sedecias the son of Chanaana made himself horns of iron, and said: Thus saith the Lord: With these shalt thou push Syria, till thou destroy it.
