And after these things, Naboth the Jezrahelite, who was in Jezrahel, had at that time a vineyard near the palace of Achab king of Samaria.


7 He was two and thirty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eight years in Jerusalem.


9 So we boiled my son, and ate him. And I said to her on the next day: Give thy son that we may eat him. And she hath hid her son.


9 And as the king passed by, he cried to the king, and said: Thy servant went out to fight hand to hand: and when a certain man was run away, one brought him to me, and said: Keep this man: and if he shall slip away, thy life shall be for his life, or thou shalt pay a talent of silver.


3 But he refused, and said: I will not eat. But his servants and the woman forced him, and at length hearkening to their voice, he arose from the ground and sat upon the bed.


2 For thou didst it secretly: but I will do this thing in the sight of all Israel, and in the sight of the sun.


Naboth answered him: The Lord be merciful to me, and not let me give thee the inheritance of my fathers.


4 These are the precepts which the Lord commanded Moses for the children of Israel in mount Sinai.
