And over it were the cherubims of glory overshadowing the propitiatory: of which it is not needful to speak now particularly.


They are all adulterers, like an oven heated by the baker: the city rested a little from the mingling of the leaven, till the whole was leavened.


8 But he shall worship the god Maozim in his place: and a god whom his fathers knew not, he shall worship with gold, and silver, and precious stones, and things of great price.


7 But thy eyes and thy heart are set upon covetousness, and upon shedding innocent blood, and upon oppression, and running after evil works.


For they that gather it, shall eat it, and shall praise the Lord: and they that bring it together, shall drink it in my holy courts.


2 When you came to appear before me, who required these things at your hands, that you should walk in my courts?


4 And he turned their rivers into blood, and their showers that they might, not drink.


5 He commanded the Levites, who carried the ark of the covenant of the Lord. saying:


Now when all these things shall be come upon thee, the blessing or the curse, which I have set forth before thee, and thou shalt be touched with repentance of thy heart among all the nations, into which the Lord thy God shall have scattered thee,


1 I say then, have they so stumbled, that they should fall? God forbid. But by their offence, salvation is come to the Gentiles, that they may be emulous of them.


7 And when it was now noon, Elias jested at them, saying: Cry with a louder voice: for he is a God, and perhaps he is talking, or is in an inn, or on a journey, or perhaps he is asleep, and must be awaked.


5 And the water run round about the altar, and the trench was filled with water.


6 Then Nabuchodonosor came to the door of the burning fiery furnace, and said: Sidrach, Misach, and Abdenago, ye servants of the most high God, go ye forth, and come. And immediately Sidrach, Misach, and Abdenago went out from the midst of the fire.
