3 I was a stranger, and you took me not in: naked, and you covered me not: sick and in prison, and you did not visit me.

Persevere under discipline. God dealeth with you as with his sons; for what son is there, whom the father doth not correct?


9 Nevertheless send now, and gather unto me all Israel, unto mount Carmel, and the prophets of Baal four hundred and fifty, and the prophets of the groves four hundred, who eat at Jezabel's table.


If we will enter into the city, we shall die with the famine: and if we will remain here, we must also die: come, therefore, and let us run over to the camp of the Syrians. If they spare us, we shall live: but if they kill us, we shall but die.


9 He that tilleth his ground, shall be filled with bread: but he that followeth idleness shall be filled with poverty.
