0 And Achab the son of Amri did evil in the sight of the Lord above all that were before him.


And there passed three years without war between Syria and Israel.


4 And the Lord hath appointed himself a king over Israel, who shall cut off the house of Jeroboam in this day, and in this time:


And he sent to Josaphat king of Juda, saying: The king of Moab is revolted from me, come with me against him to battle. And he answered: I will come up: he that is mine, is thine: my people, thy people: and my horses, thy horses.


And there thou shalt drink of the torrent: and I have commanded the ravens to feed thee there.


And the word of the Lord came to him, saying:


4 In his days Hiel of Bethel built Jericho: in Abiram his firstborn he laid its foundations: and in his youngest son Segub he set up the gates thereof: according to the word of the Lord, which he spoke in the hand of Josue the son of Nun.


And the messengers turned back to Ochozias. And he said to them: Why are you come back?


7 But Ochozias king of Juda seeing this, fled by the way of the garden house : and Jehu pursued him, and said: Strike him also in his chariot. And they struck him in the going up to Gaver, which is by Jeblaam: and he fled into Mageddo, and died there.


For so it was that the children of Israel had sinned against the Lord their God, who brought them out of the land of Egypt, from under the hand of Pharao king of Egypt, and they worshipped strange gods.


8 And besides all this the Lord struck him with an incurable disease in his bowels.
