And David sent messengers, and took her, and she came in to him, and he slept with her: and presently she was purified from her uncleanness:


3 And Joab and the people that were with him, began to fight against the Syrians: and they immediately fled before him.

0 And he forthwith left the oxen and ran after Elias, and said: Let me, I pray thee, kiss my father and my mother, and then I will follow thee. And he said to him: Go, and return back: for that which was my part, I have done to thee.


5 And dividing his company, he rushed upon them in the night: and defeated them, and pursued them as far as Hoba, which is on the left hand of Damascus.


0 And Ahias taking his new garment, wherewith he was clad, divided it into twelve parts:


3 But the rest of all the acts of Asa, and all his strength, and all that he did and the cities that he built, are they not written in the book of the words of the days of the kings of Juda? But in the time of his old age he was diseased in his feet.


2 And Hazael said to him: Why doth my lord weep? And he said: Because I know the evil that thou wilt do to the children of Israel. Their strong cities then wilt burn with fire, and their young men thou wilt kill with the sword, and thou wilt dash their children, and rip up their pregnant women.


But the high places he did not destroy: for the people sacrificed and burnt incense in the high places.


And out of Bete, and out of Beroth, cities of Adarezer, king David took an exceeding great quantity of brass.


1 And Joab said: If the Syrians are too strong for me, then thou shalt help me: but if the children of Ammon are too strong for thee, then I will help thee.
