FOR I would not have you ignorant, brethren, that our fathers were all under the cloud, and all passed through the sea.

2 See then the goodness and the severity of God: towards them indeed that are fallen, the severity; but towards thee, the goodness of God, if thou abide in goodness, otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.


0 Therefore, whilst we have time, let us work good to all men, but especially to those who are of the household of the faith.


For it is written in the law of Moses: Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen?


5 Now concerning virgins, I have no commandment of the Lord; but I give counsel, as having obtained mercy of the Lord, to be faithful.


For such an one I will glory; but for myself I will glory nothing, but in my infirmities.

But with most of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the desert.
