3 For such false apostles are deceitful workmen, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.


Now we pray God, that you may do no evil, not that we may appear approved, but that you may do that which is good, and that we may be as reprobates.


5 But I most gladly will spend and be spent myself for your souls; although loving you more, I be loved less.


When Christ shall appear, who is your life, then you also shall appear with him in glory.


But as we were approved by God that the gospel should be committed to us: even so we speak, not as pleasing men, but God, who proveth our hearts.


1 In carefulness not slothful. In spirit fervent. Serving the Lord.


6 Yea, unto those places that are beyond you, to preach the gospel, not to glory in another man's rule, in those things that are made ready to our hand.


Therefore having always confidence, knowing that, while we are in the body, we are absent from the Lord.


0 For if a man see him that hath knowledge sit at meat in the idol's temple, shall not his conscience, being weak, be emboldened to eat those things which are sacrificed to idols ?


Know you not that the saints shall judge this world ? And if the world shall be judged by you, are you unworthy to judge the smallest matters ?


Therefore judge not before the time; until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts; and then shall every man have praise from God.


9 But the sure foundation of God standeth firm, having this seal: the Lord knoweth who are his; and let every one depart from iniquity who nameth the name of the Lord.


For although I be rude in speech, yet not in knowledge; but in all things we have been made manifest to you.


But I fear lest, as the serpent seduced Eve by his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted, and fall from the simplicity that is in Christ.


3 And now there remain faith, hope, and charity, these three: but the greatest of these is charity.


But with most of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the desert.


1 But now I have written to you, not to keep company, if any man that is named a brother, be a fornicator, or covetous, or a server of idols, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner: with such a one, not so much as to eat.


For who distinguisheth thee ? Or what hast thou that thou hast not received ? And if thou hast received, why dost thou glory, as if thou hadst not received it ?


But, as it is written: That eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither hath it entered into the heart of man, what things God hath prepared for them that love him.


8 And the base things of the world, and the things that are contemptible, hath God chosen, and things that are not, that he might bring to nought things that are:


1 For seeing that in the wisdom of God the world, by wisdom, knew not God, it pleased God, by the foolishness of our preaching, to save them that believe.


For Jerusalem is ruined, and Juda is fallen: because their tongue, and their devices are against the Lord, to provoke the eyes of his majesty.


0 The Lord shall reign for ever: thy God, O Sion, unto generation and generation.


I will be glad and rejoice in thee: I will sing to thy name, O thou most high.


Then Paul said: John baptized the people with the baptism of penance, saying: That they should believe in him who was to come after him, that is to say, in Jesus.


But when some were hardened, and believed not, speaking evil of the way of the Lord, before the multitude, departing from them, he separated the disciples, disputing daily in the school of one Tyrannus.


For we can do nothing against the truth; but for the truth.
