But, my dearly beloved, we trust better things of you, and nearer to salvation; though we speak thus.


But he giveth greater grace. Wherefore he saith: God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.


3 But having the same spirit of faith, as it is written: I believed, for which cause I have spoken; we also believe, for which cause we speak also:


And you, employing all care, minister in your faith, virtue; and in virtue, knowledge;


AND I, brethren, could not speak to you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal. As unto little ones in Christ.


Howbeit we speak wisdom among the perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, neither of the princes of this world that come to nought;


Being mindful of the work of your faith, and labour, and charity, and of the enduring of the hope of our Lord Jesus Christ before God and our Father:


1 For which cause be mindful that you, being heretofore Gentiles in the flesh, who are called uncircumcision by that which is called circumcision in the flesh, made by hands;


Be not you therefore like to them, for your Father knoweth what is needful for you, before you ask him.


1 Now he that confirmeth us with you in Christ, and that hath anointed us, is God:


7 Vain is the horse for safety: neither shall he be saved by the abundance of his strength.


Behold my eye hath seen all these things, and my ear hath heard them, and I have understood them all.


4 He changeth the heart of the princes of the people of the earth, and deceiveth them that they walk in vain where there is no way.


Now on a certain day when the sons of God came to stand before the Lord, Satan also was present among them.


1 Doth a fountain send forth, out of the same hole, sweet and bitter water?


I wonder that you are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ, unto another gospel.


9 And let the prophets speak, two or three; and let the rest judge.


I have planted, Apollo watered, but God gave the increase.


0 But to us God hath revealed them, by this Spirit. For the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.


6 The law and the prophets were until John; from that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every one useth violence towards it.


9 And every one that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands for my name's sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall possess life everlasting.


0 Suffer both to grow until the harvest, and in the time of the harvest I will say to the reapers: Gather up first the cockle, and bind it into bundles to burn, but the wheat gather ye into my barn.


1 But they that hope in the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall take wings as eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.


For my iniquities are gone over my head : and as a heavy burden are become heavy upon me.


Praise ye the Lord, because psalm is good: to our God be joyful and comely praise.


0 According to the grace of God that is given to me, as a wise architect, I have laid the foundation; and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.


7 If the whole body were the eye, where would be the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where would be the smelling?


2 So then death worketh in us, but life in you.


Beware lest any man cheat you by philosophy, and vain deceit; according to the tradition of men, according to the elements of the world, and not according to Christ:


0 For God is not unjust, that he should forget your work, and the love which you have shewn in his name, you who have ministered, and do minister to the saints.
