4 Now God hath both raised up the Lord, and will raise us up also by his power.


He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord. And he that eateth, eateth to the Lord: for he giveth thanks to God. And he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth thanks to God.


3 Gird yourselves, and lament, O ye priests, howl, ye ministers of the altars: go in, lie in sackcloth, ye ministers of my God: because sacrifice and libation is cut off from the house of your God.


3 Because the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ is the head of the church. He is the saviour of his body.


My defence with them that do examine me is this.


Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness, and patience, and longsuffering? Knowest thou not, that the benignity of God leadeth thee to penance?


9 They said therefore to him: Where is thy Father? Jesus answered: Neither me do you know, nor my Father: if you did know me, perhaps you would know my Father also.


2 For neither doth the Father judge any man, but hath given all judgment to the Son.


4 And they cried to the Lord, and said: We beseech thee, O Lord, let us not perish for this man's life, and lay not upon us innocent blood: for thou, O Lord, hast done as it pleased thee.


4 For if we believe that Jesus died, and rose again; even so them who have slept through Jesus, will God bring with him.


8 Open thou my eyes: and I will consider the wondrous things of thy law.


For to thee will I pray: O Lord, in the morning thou shalt hear my voice.


1 And I will make Jerusalem to be heaps of sand, and dens of dragons: and I will make the cities of Juda desolate, for want of an inhabitant.


7 Jesus said to him: Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with thy whole heart, and with thy whole soul, and with thy whole mind.


6 But rise up, and stand upon thy feet: for to this end have I appeared to thee, that I may make thee a minister, and a witness of those things which thou hast seen, and of those things wherein I will appear to thee,


And you are puffed up; and have not rather mourned, that he might be taken away from among you, that hath done this deed.
