9 And I would have you all to speak with tongues, but rather to prophesy. For greater is he that prophesieth, than he that speaketh with tongues: unless perhaps he interpret, that the church may receive edification.

For if the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself to the battle ?


1 And through thy knowledge shall the weak brother perish, for whom Christ hath died ?


I gave you milk to drink, not meat; for you were not able as yet. But neither indeed are you now able; for you are yet carnal.


3 For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast protected me from my mother's womb.


Or have ye not read in the law, that on the sabbath days the priests in the temple break the sabbath, and are without blame?


1 There is a generation that curseth their father, and doth not bless their mother.


2 For evils without number have surrounded me; my iniquities have overtaken me, and I was not able to see. They are multiplied above the hairs of my head : and my heart hath forsaken me.


1 For this is the declaration, which you have heard from the beginning, that you should love one another.


7 That Christ may dwell by faith in your hearts; that being rooted and founded in charity,


And having different gifts, according to the grace that is given us, either prophecy, to be used according to the rule of faith;


God forbid that I should judge you to be just: till I die I will not depart from my innocence.


But now, brethren, if I come to you speaking with tongues, what shall I profit you, unless I speak to you either in revelation, or in knowledge, or in prophecy, or in doctrine?
