And you shall observe, and fulfil them in practice. For this is your wisdom, and understanding in the sight of nations, that hearing all these precepts, they may say: Behold a wise and understanding people, a great nation.


And that which was dry land, shall become a pool, and the thirsty land springs of water. In the dens where dragons dwell before, shall rise up the verdure of the reed and the bulrush.


Where there are no oxen, the crib is empty: but where there is much corn, there the strength of the ox is manifest.


And Sechenias the son of Jehiel of the sons of Elam answered, and said to Esdras: We have sinned against our God, and have taken strange wives of the people of the land: and now if there be repentance in Israel concerning this,


Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God is one Lord.


9 And taking him, they brought him to the Areopagus, saying: May we know what this new doctrine is, which thou speakest of?


1 Not to all the people, but to witnesses preordained by God, even to us, who did eat and drink with him after he arose again from the dead;


For it shall be health to thy navel, and moistening to thy bones.


1 The proud did iniquitously altogether: but I declined not from thy law.


1 Thy words have I hidden in my heart, that I may not sin against thee.


0 And the Lord should not forgive him: but his wrath and jealousy against that man should be exceedingly enkindled at that time, and all the curses that are written in this volume should light upon him: and the Lord should blot out his name from under heaven,


5 But with all that are present and that are absent.


1 Because the Lord thy God is a merciful God: he will not leave thee, nor altogether destroy thee, nor forget the covenant, by which he swore to thy fathers.


1 And you came to the foot of the mount, which burned even unto heaven: and there was darkness, and a cloud and obscurity in it.


4 Give me understanding, and I will search thy law ; and I will keep it with my whole heart.


2 As also of all the courts, which he had in his thought, and of the chambers round about, for the treasures of the house of the Lord, and for the treasures of the consecrated things,


4 Gold by weight for every vessel for the ministry. And silver by weight ac- cording to the diversity of the vessels and uses.


6 And the feast of the harvest of the firstfruits of thy work, whatsoever thou hast sown in the field. The feast also in the end of the year, when thou hast gathered in all thy corn out of the field.


Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with thy whole heart, and with thy whole soul, and with thy whole strength.


And of stones not fashioned nor polished: and thou shalt offer upon it holocausts to the Lord thy God:


5 Josue therefore on that day made a covenant, and set before the people commandments and judgments in Sichem.
