4 So David reigned over all Israel, and executed judgment and justice among all his people.


0 He sent Adoram his son to king David, to desire peace of him, and to congratulate him that he had defeated and overthrown Adarezer: for Thou was an enemy to Adarezer.


1 And Joab said: If the Syrians are too strong for me, then thou shalt help me: but if the children of Ammon are too strong for thee, then I will help thee.


1 They answered: Should they abuse our sister as a strumpet?


7 Then we who are alive, who are left, shall be taken up together with them in the clouds to meet Christ, into the air, and so shall we be always with the Lord.

2 And there was a great war against the Philistines all the days of Saul. For whomsoever Saul saw to be a valiant man, and fit for war, he took him to himself.


Then Saul said: Bring me the holocaust, and the peace offerings. And he offered the holocaust.


3 For since the time that I went in to Pharao to speak in thy name, he hath afflicted thy people: and thou hast not delivered them.


0 Wherefore Joab understanding that the battle was set against him before and behind, chose out the bravest men of all Israel, and marched against the Syrians,
