In the mean time it happened that David arose from his bed after noon, and walked upon the roof of the king's house: and he saw from the roof of his house a woman washing herself, over against him: and the woman was very beautiful.


7 And I will wait for the Lord, who hath hid his face from the house of Jacob, and I will look for him.

But David stayed at Jerusalem, when Joab smote Rabba, and destroyed it.


And the people that were therein he brought out: and made harrows, and sleds, and chariots of iron to go over them, so that they were cut and bruised to pieces: in this manner David dealt with all the cities of the children of Ammon : and he returned with alibis people to Jerusalem.
